Rick,

Are these the same as the ones you gave me on CD?

It's nice to see that they not only made the maps available again but put them in a zip file. They were unavailable for a while and they used to have no way to easily download the whole "package".

Does anyone have information on Route #3 that they would be willing to share. Route #3 runs along the cascade and i believe that its a fairly new addition to the system because theirs not much info about it on th web. I plan to run it this summer, so any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Steven,

I'm hoping to do the same route this summer. Did you see the two links I added in the "Navigation" section? I'm guessing you did, and that they don't contain any info. The OOHVA website is the best resource for info. Did you try posting on their board?

The Northern California Rover Club is also running the trail this summer and are actively collecting information. You might try touching base with them. One of the leaders hangs out on www.expeditionportal.com and discoweb.org.

The Maps that OOHVA provides are a greta value and cover the entire route. Well worth the $35 investment, and they will send the GPS waypoints by email if you send in the page at the back of the maps.

I would order the printed maps rather than the CD (if they offer the CD). The printing alone justifies the cost, they are bound and in order with Lat/long. It makes it really easy to follow the trail when using their printed book.

Even if you have a computer in the rig, scrolling through PDF's would be a nuisance. Having the waypoints is key, and you can download them into whichever software you prefer.
