1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II SE7

Hilights:

4.6l Rover V8 with ~40k miles - installed by Biggs Eastside Automotive
3" Rovertym lift kit w/ 32" BFG Mud Terrains
Winch / winch bumper
Sliders
Rear bumper with integral trailer hitch, recovery points, and rear quarter panel sliders
Center Differential Lock (True 4WD)
Hella fog lamps (shown) and Hella 4000 compact euro lamps (not shown)

PRICE:
 $11,000

Overall Condition:
150k on the chassis, but very few mechanical components have anywhere near this number of miles on them.  For example, the engine has ~40k, the transfer case has 55k, the driveshafts have less than 25k since they were last balanced and refurbished, the brakes have less than 23k, Master Cylinder has 27k, etc.
Impeccably maintained by Biggs Eastside Automotive, Bradford Rovers, Old Town Garage, and myself.
All receipts on file.
Synthetic oil used every 3-4k consistently.

The vehicle was built for sustained overland expedition style travel, northwest 4WD trails, and camping.  It was regularly gone over by Bradford Rovers and Old Town Garage -- maintained to not break down on in the middle of nowhere.  The vehicle is in great shape and I wouldn't hesitate to head out on a 3-5k trip right now as it sits.

Note: I deleted the other for sale thread I had since it was insanely off-topic (but fun).

The locker is going to Dan, so the price has been dropped to $13,000.

Price dropped $250, put the Hella 4000 compact driving lamps back on. I'll update the pictures with the driving lamps soon.

I've decided to hang on to it for a while. Too many other things going on to worry about selling this one and buying a new one. I might put it back up for sale in the spring.

Ya, good call, that truck is sweet. I'm surprised you couldn't unload it for that price.

Well, it is a bit "naked" now that the roofrack/flooring/ladder went to Dave, the locker to Dan, the carputer got pulled, etc. I pulled a few other items too that are currently in a bin in the garage. Now I get to put humpty dumpty back together again. Hmmm.... white like an egg, always in pieces.... did I just name my truck?

Craig,

I like the way it looks in the picture above, the thing is just begging for a Chaser trailer to tow behind it.

What prompted you to change your mind.

Britt

Britt,

I just have too many other things going on to worry about selling this one and buying a new one. This one isn't selling easily, and I don't have time to keep it spotless, market it, answer questions from pretend buyers, etc. A new "to me" truck will take a fair amount of work to get it to where I want it which again will take some time that I don't have. I might put it back up for sale in the spring as a Series or Defender w/ a diesel motor is my dream vehicle.

I like the truck w/o the roofrack/ladder too; especially with the tent on. It is quieter, handles better in corners onroad or off-camber offroad. With the rooftop tent, I am storing the equivalent of tent/sleeping bags/pillows which is all I ever stored on my roofrack anyway (light items). The way I use it, the tent and rack are actually redundant. So far we've had plenty of room on the inside for the 3 of us (+ dog) and our stuff although when I bring my spare parts / tool bin or a lot of extra water it is too tight. I'm sort of committed to fitting inside of it rather than pulling a trailer. The way I see it is that 3 backpacks and a spare parts bin fit inside the vehicle and anything beyond that are just luxury items. That said, a chaser trailer looks good behind any vehicle.

DEFINATELY! Well, as soon as I make a few repairs, most notably:

Serpentine Belt
Passenger Front O2 Sensor has bad wiring and maybe a bad ECU (dang it)
Rear suspension has a ton of lateral play in it and it is getting worse

Yeah, its for sale. Not officially (as in it hasn't been detailed and had For Sale signs in the window), but I still want to sell it. I'll detail it again and put it up on all the for sale sites in the spring.

12k as spec'd above. It has 147k on it now, with 40-45k on the 4.6l V8 (I need to check the mileage).  I put a new radiator in it last fall at the same time I fixed the other items.

Thanks Chris. I'm going to wait a few more months before putting the full court press on the sale again. When I do, I'll send a flyer your way.

Craig
