| D1 Safari Gard front bumper. It's the bumper in my avatar. Very Good condition. Has integrated skid plate. I'm thinking about putting an ARB on. Bumper and lights located in Boise. I'm most likely heading to Portland and then Astoria this weekend. Could deliver. Could ship the bumper, but might be a little spendy. OK. Due to responses from the NWOS voting public, I am going to hold on to the $G until further notice.

(2) Hella 4000 spots (2) Hella 4000 fogs Lights in good shape work great. Have plastic covers and two or three clear covers. Asking $150 per pair + shipping. OBO I'm not really experienced selling rover parts. If you are interested, and want to make an offer....let me know. jrose609@msn.com

| I hope I'm not the only one wondering why you'd take a step backwards and get an ARB? If you do ship it Greyhound can be helpful.

| Don't sell it. I repeat, do not sell it.
The D1 ARB is pathetically weak compared to the SG, not to mention the approach angle is much worse on the ARB. The SG also has some of the the best powdercoating of any aftermarket bumper made. You will definitely regret the decision if you go through with it.

| Ok. I have had OVERWHELMING responses to not sell the $G. Maybe I will hold off. I only did one big off-road trip last year. Maybe I'll go through the summer and see how it is.
Thanks for the help, guys. Maybe it's just a little mid-life crisis...........

| So my question is what is that headlight conversion you have? I've never seen that before?
BTW, I do like the ARB, probably the minority here, but the $G is definitely a better bumper. If you don't mind the departure angle of the Safarigard it is certainly the better bumper.

| I do like the Safari Guard much better than the ARB. I don't have nearly the experience of these other guys but the Safari Guard bumpers are some of my favorites.

| Larry, what do you mean regarding the departure angle? It is a front bumper. | | | |

| Maybe he meant while backing up Anyhow, Jason, I don't know if you've had a chance to see and touch an ARB up close. Once you do, I think you'd agree that it borders on libel for ARB to say that theirs is an equivalent "off-road" bumper. It looks nice in their catalog and that's where it should stay. You really are coming out ahead on this one. Do you mind if I ask why you're selling the lights? I've always imagined that two fogs and a center driving beam would be a great combination in front of any truck. Either way, bump for your sale thread. A | | | |

| I had a Safarigard rear bumper, I think Jason has one now, and I really, really liked it. I don't like the looks of the front bumper though. I do not doubt or dispute the idea that it is a 'better' bumper than the ARB, but I've never been keen on the extreme low profile angled look -- I like to keep the lines of the Disco, RRC, whatever. I'm a fan of upgrades as long as they don't change the overall design look. I always wished that Safarigard had designed their front bumper in the same way the did the rear -- to match the lines of the truck. After all, the RRC was displayed in the Louve!! You don't mess with that man, you don't!
BUT! I'm not sure I would go down to an ARB. What I would go to? I don't know. I just wish someone would make a bumper as strong as the Safarigard, not as bulky as the ARB, but one that matched the looks of the Disco. (Columbia? Come on, Brent!)
(I've had several ARB's, and I loved them. But in liking them, I also understood their shortcomings and didn't have a problem with it because I'm a chicken off-roader anyway, and the ARB will outlast me!)

| Ive hit my ARB on a few things and it has been solid. With that said, If we could swap I would do it in a heartbeat. Jason | | | |

| All ARBs aren't the same. The D1 bumper is a fairly weak bumper compared to other ARB bumpers made for the D2, etc. There is a thread on ExPo somewhere that goes into the specifics if you are interested in learning more. | | | |

I probably should've said approach angle, but... Additionally I mean it's too much for my taste. I prefer a little more coverage on the front. On past trucks I've had quite a few bumpers with SafariGard like approach angles and since they were rock buggies it was OK. Now I prefer less. That's all.

| I think what Larry meant to say was that he's totally hardcore and likes to take a lot of offroading obsticles in "reverse"....thus the departure angle reference. | | | |

Larry. Got the conversion from a friend in the UK. I have a 200tdi grill I've installed. It actually looks much better than the V8 Petrol grill on there now. I like the round headlights, and just wanted a D1 that looked a little different than everyone elses.

Andy. I'm selling the lights because I have a bunch of lights. I have four Hella 4000's, four of the smaller Hellas (dont know the number, think 550 or 500), and two IPF's. The IPF's are on there now, and they are a little smaller than the Hellas. Like the smaller lights. They are like the lights Ben Bailey won for being Stud Photographer of the Year! Larry and Ben, I'm kind of with you. I'm not a huge fan of of the really slim buggy bumpers. I like a little more meat. I'm not near as tough off-road as most of the guys on here and other pages. I don't disagree with the rest of you guys though, I think the SG is by far a much tougher bumper than the ARB, but I actually like the bulky lines of the ARB. Guess I'm one of the strange ones.

| Shoot, Jason, there's another DI in this area with the round headlights -- I can't remember who's it is now, but it's someone on this board -- now you need to go make some more modifications to make yours look different! Maybe a Saudi grill? How about a row of lights on the roof rack? Ever think of a snorkel? (You can thank me for the excuse later, but go use it while it's good!)
I really want to see your truck some time! Andrew says hello, we had a good BS session this evening.
