| I found a metal dealer that has Marsden Matting, or Pierced Steel Planking, surplus for sale. WWII Surplus it sounds like, they are made of steel and dimensions are 10'x15". They are widely used in the off road community as sand/snow ladders. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsden_Matting

(Above photos are representative of the items, not the actual items. Condition is "Unused Surplus") Relatively cheap each, the shipping is what kills their price since they are appx 66lbs each. I have the ability to have them shipped to my warehouse at work, so it will substantially cut down on shipping costs, and in doing so will drastically reduce the price from other online off road retailers of the same thing (~$150+). For 5 units (a person only really needs one unit cut in 1/2) it looks to be $110 For 10 units the price is reduced to $90. If we get more than 10 people wanting these, the price will reduce further. The above prices include a $5/plank kickback to NWOS for the Group Buy. Like the title suggests, this is a Feeler only at this point, if I can't get at least 4 other people interested, this is a nogo.

| Two 5' sections (made out of one 10') section. But you are saying a unit is one 10' section right? So you are saying $110 for a pair of 5' sections - if five people sign up.
$90 for a pair if 10 people sign up.
This is what you are saying, right?

| Count me in if this goes through for 1 piece/set. I'll have to arrange a way to pick it up from down there, and get it chopped in two, but the price is great.

| Count me in! Just reread the O.J. issue on sand laders and if these work half as good at 1/3 the cost it cant be a bad deal. Were would I need to pick them up at? | | | |

I would imagine we could all pick a mutually central location. If we got this done in time, I don't see why we couldn't do it at the NWOS Awards Banquet in March.

| Interested, not sold.
If the price comes down further, I'd be in. Even though it is a good price, I want to spend my money elsewhere right now.

| He-he -- if I found that scene someplace out in the desert, I'd be loading up my rig with the straightest lot I could pull out of the ground. | | | |

| Hi Kadar, When you're negotiating with them, keep in mind this ad I came across from a couple of years back...
Although used, the price of $34.95 is quite attractive. I don't know if this guy still has them, and obviously shipping from California would be a factor, but you might be able to get your price worked down a bit... cheers, Dave

| It appears we have seven who want to buy 10' lengths?
Myself- 1 Caleb Weand- 1 Dave Blair- 1 Mike Block- 1 Peter Schuldt- 3
If we can get 3 more sold, we can beat that price point for shipping... If we can't, then I'll get another quote on 7 shipped. (From my calcs, looks like appx $95ea w/ $35 going to NWOS...)

| With you permission I will post this group buy on the PCRC (Local LR Club) email list. That may result in a few more orders. | | | |
