Benny,

I think so. I am eyeing a JK Unlimited. It's time. Although, I am also keeping my Rover shrine fully active, because like Craig, a Defender 100 is in my future :-)

I would have to agree. And honestly, those Project JK vid's don't help deter my decision :-)

I'm so very confused... say it ain't so... tell me you're having an affair with a series IIA, a Series III... something British!

Hahahah! I will always have British blood in my soul. We are prepping for Lucia's college and I need a long term adventure machine. Something a little less $$ to work on.
Defender 110 in the future, but for now, I need to punt :-)

That is going to be my "punt" as well if the diesel RRC doesn't work out like I hope. This jeep looked very inviting to me http://salem.craigslist.org/cto/2266088374.html

I like that they call it a Rubiclone. I guess Dick Hannah does these that are Rubicon driveline but without the extra frills.

I know black isn't popular for a trail rig around here but this seemed tempting.

I think it is more like needing to get the ball into play Benny. Not a bad thing.

Not a bad thing at all. I just think there are some of us that for what ever messed up reason have always wanted to do things the hard way. I have tons of respect and admiration for those willing to do things a more conventional way, and I want to be one of you some day, I really do.

There really hasn't been a newer more conventional vehicle I have liked until the JK. It is big enough for family use, off road capable, and convertible. The mileage isn't even terrible for what it can do.

I have been watching the JK's closely since they came out, yours isn't making it any easier to resist, Benny.

know I did the same thing, I was nursing along that trooper for awhile. Parts kept getting harder and harder to find. I kept telling myself it it was worth it to have a unusual vehicle out on the trail. But after awhile the upkeep was killing me and the lack of aftermarket support was a bummer. I had always liked what Jeep did with the JK and when I saw mine sitting there all lonley in a Honda dealer's parking lot, I knew something had to be done. I love the fact that with the Rubicon package it's 90% done..so far the JK's are proving pretty reliable in everyday use and the aftermarket for them is just amazing. Nothing cooler than sitting in traffic with the top and doors off, sitting in shorts, t-shirt, flip flops and shades listening to some Van Halen..part of me wishes I would have done the Jeep thing from the start but then again I wouldn't have had the only "Bill Burke' edition Isuzu Jackaroo on the planet...

Dan, The ad is on the billboard at work...Good luck.

Yeah, I am one for being in a unique vehicle, but with an impending college tuition bill in my future, I want to get in and drive, not continually wory about parts breaking, falling off. And in reality, the lack of repair shops in the area is my biggest decision maker there.

You guys are so good for me. I have just been detailing my DoKa for the last two days getting ready to sell and I have been having second thoughts about getting rid of it. I would really rather be going and doing things than just having a cool rig. I can let go...I can let go...I can let go.

This is better than a 12 step program.
