I have an MSR Reactor that I like alot, I bought it to sort of supplement my JetBoil as it seems to work in much colder temperatures - Anyways, I lost the lid to it and it's been sitting unused for some time.  I called MSR in Seattle on Wednesday last week and their helpful Customer Service rep said she'd try to source a lid for me.  Lo and behold I had a package on Saturday from MSR with a new lid at no cost.

Good company, will buy from them again.

I could have sworn that REI bought MSR years ago. Which may help explain the customer service.

good to know... I have always loved the equipment I bought from them and their service, never had a problem. Not sure about the REI puchase. I love their XGK EX Stove which is a blast furnace and handy in the snow with my little dog sled team.

I didn't know you had a dog sled team Paul. I don't want to derail this thread, but I'd love to hear about them sometime.

Therm-a-Rest, MSR, Platypus, SealLine, & Tracks brands are all owned by a company called Cascade Designs.  These guys are a lot of fun to work with and offer great products all around.  They are very interested in keeping at the head of their business and will do almost anything to keep their customers happy.

I love hearing stories like this, in these days it seems some companies have forgotten what customer service is about and are over shadowed by the bottom line.

Some companies for some reason dont believe we talk, we discuss,  we evaluate and we gather to share these stories and experiences. Word of mouth can make or break a deal before ya even step into there buisness, I know this because there are some buisness I refuse to even meet do to the lack of customer service I have heard via word of mouth.

Bottom line is we the cunsumer can wield big influence on the success or failure of a buisness just by the experiences we share with each other.
