Anyone seen or read a review of this porta potty?

Porta Potty Lite

Seems like it might work well with the PETT pooh powder at a lower price point.

Description:  Unroll the sturdy (rated to 1,200 pounds) pedistal and set in the end caps (Comfort Ring) on both ends. Then place a 1.5 mil plastic bag in the bucket. When finished drop in a effervescent sanitizing tablet, tie it up, throw it away and put in a new bag. Comes with 2 Comfort Rings, 1 for top and one for bottom, and sturdy roll up bucket.  10 sanitizing tablets and 10 1.5 mil bags included.

Price:  $30.00  (Includes port-a-potty, sanitizing tablets, and bags)

The bottom is open, so it can be used without a bag over a hole like the PETT if necessary.  It comes with a carry bag too.  The sales guy is confirming, but the description of the tablets is very similar to the Pooh Powder.  It prevents E-coli, etc from spreading.

I ordered one along with the Outback privacy shelter.  I'll see how hard/easy it is to setup this weekend.

Now this is what we need. I suppose we'd fight over who got to strap it to the top of their rig though! Todd first!

LOL!

Regarding the first post in this thread... I hate that toilet.  It is a nightmare to setup.  Don't waste your money.  Unless I go to Moab or another regulated location, I'm sticking with my shovel.

I'm going with something like this, PETT bags and Poo Powder.  I just can'y justify spending a c-note on a reading stool.

It won't get near the attention mine will strapped to the roof of Todd's truck.

This one is perfect for the roof top tent users who's tent opens to the back.   ahhh right in the changing room.

You can use a bag...

Or you can use a bucket...

The web site is bumperdumper

Edit: If you have a lifted vehicle (like mine) you will need some sort of step to get to the seat.

Ahh the bumper dumper, I have one and it works great in those times when there isn't a bathroom around.

Bumping, (Errr... dumping) this thread.

Is the bumper dumper DOT approved for travel? Does have an integrated Seatbelt?

(That would make great video driving around the campsite with someone sitting there reading the paper.)

Goofiness aside now, I do have a question about the PETT bags and poo powder. If used in the changing room of the roof tent, will the poo powder neutralize the odors of solid waste for a while? Or realistically, should it be sealed up right away and a new one set up for the next user? Just trying to determine if I need to plan on 1 or 2 bags per day on the steens trip for my son and I, worst case.

I've used a bag, left it on the PETT overnight in the back of the truck and there wasn't a bad smell the next morning. that's about as scientific as I can get.

Todd,

Is there a wag-bag requirement for the Steens or can we just dig a hole?

In the steens, I would think you would be fine digging a hole, but I don't know for sure (most likely fine). In the Alvord desert, I think it is probably OK but akward. There aren't any trees or what not to get any privacy out there.

I can bring a privacy shelter either way. Just wasn't sure if I was going to have to carry a weeks worth of poo around.

I carried a weeks worth of it around the Maze. I ended up leaving it for the surly concierge at the Mesa Hilton. That was after it sat in the truck in 100+ heat for a few more days. I would have loved to see his face when he popped the top on that bucket.
