| I'm back from our Colockum Pass attempt. Grant, Caleb, and Mike headed over to the Quilomene to camp for the night. We made it within 1.5 miles of the summit when we ran into a groomed snowmobile trail. The road is technically open still, but we want to keep relations between offroaders and snowmobilers good so we decided to turn around and head back down the trail we broke that morning. Kinda bummed and a bit angry but we moved on quickly as it was still a lot of fun out there. Had some lunch, then headed back into Wenatchee where I aired up and said goodbye. I uploaded a bunch of photos to the photo gallery, but here's a couple to keep the thread interesting. |

| Craig - Seeing your Rangie with snow packed in the wheels reminds me of an old Rangie another PCRC'er had way back, similar color with the off-white D-110 wheels. It really looked good, and you get the idea looking at that shot. Go for it! Just my .02. =8^) |

| I'm thinking the same way Ed. I really like the limestone NATO steelies on the green RRCs. Kevan Wiser did it to his LWB and I think it looks sweet.

| I uploaded some pictures to the Gallery. We had a good nite under the stars (and clouds) west of the Columbia, saw some Elk, Deere, Bald Eagle, Coyote/Rabbit tag game and a few "hunters" driving around. I'll post up a summary manana, lots to do tonight still.
Thanks Craig, Mike and Caleb! |

| Grant, I just approved your photo uploads. The Quilomene looks GREAT with a little snow. Wish I could have joined you guys. Thanks for putting this trip together. It was AWESOME to get out and stretch the coils a bit. The EFI light never came back on. I messed up my idle settings when I disconnected the negative terminal. I had strange surging all the way home, but Jeffrey Stiner helped me figure it out over email and all seems well now. Really glad to see you guys had a good nighttime snowrun into the Quilomene. I want to see a picture with all of Caleb's new lights on though! Craig |

| Looks like a cool trip. Must have been nice to have the snow to smooth out those crazy bumpy roads. Any slick off camber bits? |

| Nate, there were some slick spots... one hill that will remain nameless nearly dumped one nameless driver on his nameless side in about a 30 yard sideways downhill slide through the sage bushes (steering is for panseys anyway).
Nice video of Caleb on what appears a mild slope thats not so mild... till Michael marches right up it! |

| 3FE Powah! as they say on mud. Body damage gives you more mojo.
I could imagine things getting a little hairy out there if it's slick. Where did you go in, camp, and how far did you get? |

If work will leave me alone I'll get a trip report done. Corral rd, Skoominchuck, Beacon Ridge; exit Kittitas That hill was soo weak- I came through the corner in highrange, suddenly felt like I was on a sheet of ice. Lowrange and locker, like Caleb did, and it was no problem, gripped fine. That powdery snow can turn traction into thin air in nothing flat |

| How did each of the trucks do in the deep snow compared to each other?
Isuzu - Toyoata - Range Rover - |

| Dan, unfortunately the snow was never very deep. I cut most of the trail in, it took a lot of effort until I chained up. The other guys can tell you their experience but I think each performed well. Watching Caleb and Mike, I am debating the tire size for snow; I think 285's would have served better to get up on top of this very fine snow. |
