I wasn't really in the market for a trailer, but I stumbled across one for sale a few blocks from my folks' place and I ended up driving home with it.  It's a Canadian M101 trailer in stock form.  I plan to keep it mostly stock, except for a roof tent on top, until I figure out how much I like it.  Mike will be so proud.

Thanks. Mopar #2, "The Power Wagon" you see in the back there, will probably hit the road since the trailer can do what it does.

Dang. It's snowing here on NWOS, but not here in the real world. And, I want that trailer. Good score there.

I think you should put matching paint, rims, and tires on the Jeep.

I'm thinking about taking the Jeep and trailer to Mexico sometime.  I'd probably be better off painting them both pink rather than OD.  I hear military looking vehicles attract a lot of attention and occasionally get shot up down there.

I love the Michelins too.  Unfortunately, they are no longer made, and these are 17 years old and I can feel some slight bulges on the sidewall.  I'm either going to have to get non-directional Firestone military tires or swap out the hubs and get matching Jeep wheels.  With the later  I think I would lose the hand brake, which strikes me as a handy feature. More rolling and wind resistance on the Jeep tires too.

Yeah just about any color except OD (military), desert sand (military), and depending on the vehicle white (nato). Even when I lived in San Diego I would not take my OD pinz to Mexico. Maybe in a group of other 4x users and with a connection with the Mexican 4x groups that are always eager to wheel with stateside groups.

I have a friend in Canada that has one of those trailers and they are 3 inches narrower than the US military trailers. That is why he could not put his spare under the trailer as I did. A 33 inch tire would not fit between the bottom springs.

Happy holidays to all

Why not mount the spare on the yoke in the front of the box. Should be easy to fabricate a mount to hold it vertically just in front of the hand brake and allow the tire to rest on each side of the yoke. Very easy to get at when needed. Like the idea of going with the same wheels as the JP. Heck mount two tires up there! I agree with the others, nice score!

Good idea Dale, I might try that. Now I want a matching Iltis http://www.iltis.us/intransit.htm to pull it, or the Volvo tank killer on that page.

The trailer does look great behind your Cherokee. BTW, shouldn't we be calling them Cherokee Classics now? Every time I see one around here that has been built up a bit, I walk around it and gawk. To me they are about the perfect size, and being a Jeep, they are easy to source parts for. If you ever get the chance, you should what Nathan Henson has done with his.

Keep us posted as to how you plan on mounting the rooftop tent. What a way to go!

Great trailer! I have the US version.

Those 6.50x16 tires are available here, but they are $$$.

Here is a picture of mine after I painted it a few years ago.
