| After many life issues I have finally been able to have a bumper fabricated and purchase some sliders! The bumper was fabricated by VMI offroad in Bellingham and the sliders are from CBI offroad in Idaho Falls Idaho. The bumper is fabricated from aluminum and will be painted to match the sliders. The sliders were painted in Rustoleum Hammered Gray and a final coat of UV clear. I built a paint booth and was very glad I did. What a mess and the paint job came out good! |

| Sweet! Though I'm kinda curious though why you went with an aluminum bumper. Was it for weight savings? If so how much would you guess that bugger weighs? |

Thanks. I need to figure out what to do with my plate, ideas? I'd set the plate right over the top of the fairlead and use those two bolts to hold it on. It looks like it might stick up a little bit, but it won't be as noticeable with a set of driving lights on there. Louis |

For your license plate, you could use some quick fists, or some Mag light clips and stick it right onto the fairlead. |

Yes weight was a huge factor, the builder stated a weight of 51 lbs. When I paint it I plan to weigh it myself. Similar steel bumpers weigh in around 90 lbs. The bumper it self only weighs only 30 or so pounds more than the factory plastic bumper. When I put the winch in (M12000) the truck came down a little. I did notice a better ride. |

| Mike the sliders turned out great, nice paint job. Sweet bumper by the way! Aluminum Rocks! (had to give myself a little plug there) I was expecting the paint to be a lot darker, the lighter color will add the perfect finishing touch to the bumper, see another added plus for the aluminum, you can take it out, wheel it hard, test it, get it wet, come home wipe it off and paint away no rust removal necessary just a light wipe down with acetone. Have a great trip! Did you get the flasher module for the turn signals or are you still on turbo mode? |

| I'm impressed! Your rig is looking good! I hope I can see it on the trail in MOAB! How's that 12,000 working for you? |

| Removed the winch and driving lights today in preperation for removal and paint of the bumper this weekend. I plan on using Alodine (a etching chemical) prime and 2 top coats of Hammered grey. Found some scrap 3M anti skid for the sliders today, they can be very slick when wet. I wil post some pics when the paint is complete. |

If you can, let the sliders and tape sit out in the sun a little bit before you apply the anti skid tape. It was pretty chilly when I installed mine and it didn't want to follow the curve on the tube. Wound up chipping along most of the edges and there are a couple of spots that it just won't stick. I prepped with rubbing alcohol, so I don't think that dirt was the issue. I think the hammered grey will go great with your light blue truck

| Louis at work we use a edge sealer for this purpose and for placards. This stuff is very durable and has to hang on at 550 MPH!!! :) |
