So the troopers are all being sold off,  last man standing is my 97 (which would be the one most you have seen) and I do have a buyer its just timing to get him here to pick it up.

So onto my new project,  I kinda put myself in a pinch as I will be heading over seas in about a year  and I plann on taking this w/ me so I have a dead line to make it a solid daily for now.  I plan on redoing all weather stripping, new exhaust, new hardware for rear doors, a bit of rust to grind away and treat to prevent further decay.   Future plan (when I returne from over seas) is to save some dosh and send it off to be profecionaly restored.  Complete frame off ...

Here is how it sits tonight.

Enjoy!

I love everything about this thread except the fact that yet another NW Overland Society member is moving away. Nothing better than a classic old school offroader like the FJ40. Love it! Looking forward to seeing your project.

Looks like with the addition of a winch it's ready  to go. Be curious to see the project as it progresses.

You are correct Morris, it is pretty much set as is.  All of the wok I do will be restoration there's a bit of rust to deal with, seats will need new upolstry, new WX stripping everywhere.  Other odds and ends and I'll drive like that for the time being.

What are you going to do with all the gear from the Trooper (awning, RTT, etc)? Is it going with it?

Matching paint job in store for the M101?

I gather it's a post-'74 based on the lower mounted wiper blades and "newer" style turn signals. Aftermarket front bumper, lift, tires....aaaannddd....????

Ok so not much to update other than my FJ40 is currently on its way down to a little shop in UT.  When it gets back it will have a cummins diesel engine, running through a  NV4500 tranny, with 50gals worth of fuel tank(s).  Also all new suspension holding onto completely rebuilt axels with 3.70 diffs and air lockers.  And..... power steering, AC, new seats, and a new rear bumper w/ tire swing and cooler/jerry can rack.  I think thats about it.

more to follow...
