I KNOW MY ROVER WILL NOT START AND IT IS AN ALARM PROBLEM.

problem code P1668 states, Engine anti - theft signal circuit high, Serial link open circuit.

I have the THEFT ALARM SYSTEM Manual and need so advice, PLEASE HELP!

I wish I could help Nash. I don't know much about the alarm though. Hopefully someone else will jump in here (sometimes it can take a day or two before someone with the answer sees your post).

From the earlier thread on your problem, it sounds like the alarm brain is disabling the truck because it *thinks* there's problem when there isn't. Can you end run the starting circuit around the alarm so you have a useful truck while you troubleshoot?

Unsolicited editorial comment -- If I figured out how to defeat the alarm, I'd stop there. Alarms provide next to no useful protection.

Sorry I couldn't tell you exacts on how to any of the alarm issues, personally I would just clip the wire or pull the fuse thats for the alarm. Just my 1cent.

OK,

So I just jumped the battery and the Rover started, so now with the knowledge of the the draining battery and the P1668 fault code I think I know the problem. Something is shorting out the battery and it is dying.

What do you guys think?? Make sense, now how do I find the SHORT??
