I've noticed that the DII is quite loud when driving in the rain, specifically on the rear wheel wells.  I'm thinking I might put some of that sound deadening matting in under the carpet over the wheel wells -- any experience with this?  I would probably get some extra and run it in a few other spots too.

My wife still asks me "What the hell is that noise?" when it is raining. I wouldn't spend the extra time/money/effort in trying to make it quiet. That is just me though.

Sweet! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hears it!

I think I might try it. It's not that hard to get under the carpet there. Also, I had this stuff in the XD and it really was pretty good stuff. The XD was as quiet at the stock DII. That's saying a lot considering the roof rack, the NRP exhaust, the larger tires, lift, etc...

My D1 does the same thing, I'm glad I'm not crazy.
