I just bought two tie downs called Rok Straps.  They are a hybrid of a hooked ended nylon strap with a pinch style buckle and bungie style sections for stretch tension.  They are not good for heavy duty, but having the ability to adjust the length from 10-36" plus the buckle and the tension is very nice.  My plan is to have them in the back of the 88" along the edge of the cargo bed where the hooks on the ends of the straps seem to have been designed to go.  This way I will have the ability to simply tuck soft items up against the sides and have them strapped down in no time at all.

I got two of the Camo ROK straps as shown on this web site.
