Anyone have a source for a fuel pressure tester for a LR?  Do I have to make my own?

The rave cd says the following " The fuel pump delivery pressure and pressure regulator operating pressure can be checked using a Schraeder type valve located at the rear of the engine on the fuel rail. The valve allows the pump delivery pressure to be measured using a suitable gauge and an adaptor and hose which are special tools."

Land Rover always has to be special.

Thanks for any information you guys have,

Jason

Land Rover often tries to sell special tools when nothing special is needed. A Schraeder valve is just a regular valve such as those found on your Land Rover tires, bicycle tires, etc.

You might be able to buy one at any reputable auto parts store. I have used mine on my earlier model Land Rovers.

Jason,

I am sure that Harbor Freight has one that could be had for cheap. They are not really great quality tools, but for the one or two times you are going to use it, it might make sense. There is one up off of Park right off Cedar Hills Blvd.

I gotta run there tomorrow anyways for a Infared gun to troubleshoot my problem. I will take a look and see while I am there.

Alright well I spent some time under the hood and took a look at a few things.

Question about getting to the schrader valve on the fuel rail.  Am I to believe that not only did Land Rover hide the coil packs behind the engine but they also put the test port for the fuel system under the intake manifold?  Can anyone confirm that you have to take off the intake manifold to get the fuel rails/injectors/fuel test port?  As far as I could tell that manifold must come off to get the anything.

Thank you all for your advice.

Also, Dustin, if you remember to check that would be awesome.  I am well versed in all things Harbor Freight.  It is close to my house and there are somethings one can buy there and not worry too much about.  Recently I had to buy a Radiator/Expansion Tank Pressure Tester to prove to LR of Portland that my coolant leak was coming from my water pump and front cover gaskets not the hose that they said was leaking.  The Harbor Freight tool proved them wrong, so it was worth every penny  : )
