SOLD

Well the time has finally come where I'm admitting that I don't have the time nor the desire to keep the DII going.  I'm going to focus my efforts on the RRC.  Debating fixing the radiator and trying to sell it whole but I really don't feel like it.  Here's the scoop.

1999 DII with 177K.  Blue with Tan interior.

Radiator leak finally took it off the road where it's apart in my driveway.  Also got in a fender bender have a straight radiator core support if someone wants to fix it.

New 245/75/16 hankook dynapro AT (only a few thousand miles)

New brakes all the way around

ABS modulator repaired to eliminate 3 amigos

Greasable Front drive shaft, heavy duty

New headlights

New Magnecor 8mm plug wires

OME Springs and shocks off a 2004 still in good shape

Bumpers are not good

What else do people need?  Who needs this stuff?

Would also entertain offers if someone wants it as is for parts or to fix and wheel.  Just realize with 170+K and original head gaskets this rig is on borrowed time.  Plenty of reliable parts just not great as a whole package.  I'll be as honest as I can about any specific questions.

Need to feel for interest before I make my final descision.  I'll get some pics up soon.

Here are some phone pics.  Pretty dusty from sitting in my driveway.  Radiator is out of it right now. All parts are there.

If someone has $1500 they can have it as is? Lots of new stuff, put the new radiator support in it, I can get a used radiator for $140, put it back together and you've got a disco II. Also I have a kit to engage the CDL. It's a get out and reach under lever but still quite functional. Adds a good bit of traction.
If I'm way off on price just tell me, no offense taken. No hits here or craigslist I may make it a pick and pull in my driveway for a while. If I get a chunk of time I may order a radiator and get it back together and sell it for more?

You should have no trouble selling it at that price. Put it up on eBay.

So to get it running it only needs a radiator?

Also- do you have any pics or a better description of that CDL unit? Is it a home-made job? (not a problem if it works!)

Finally, where are you located?

Brett,

Same questions as Garrett, plus how much body damage with regards to the "fender bender"? Do you have any pictures of the damage?

Most of the damage is to the radiator core support. Slight buckle to the hood and one quarter panel, I think once the core support get's replaced a little muscle will line things up. As to the CDL linkage. A rover shop in denver (JC's Rover) sold it to me. It's a simple aluminum handle. When you want to lock it you reach under the passenger side door and push it in. Simple. Lever get's hot so gloves are a good idea. Prior to the discovered radiator leak it was my wife's daily driver. Got her around just fine.
Both front and back bumpers have broken plastic pieces and are overall abused.
Last bad news, in prep for putting in the new core support I had to discharge the AC system (per rave). It was blowing cold prior to me taking it apart though. Hopefully priced fairly. I've owned this rig for 7 years. Now with 4 cars in the driveway, an 18 month old daughter, and plans for the RRC it's time to thin the heard!
I'm in Kirkland and around all weekend (off Juanita Drive) 206-327-0743
I even have AAA so if you're close I'll get it towed to your house for you!

Well, the truck got sold, as is. Both sad and relieved to see it loaded on the trailer. Lot's of adventures in that rig....lot's of headaches too. Now only one rover in the driveway......for now

Sweet! And plenty of summer left to enjoy the Rangie without the stress of that DII. Given all the headaches that care gave you, I'm pretty sure you won't miss it at all.
