Wondering if my stock 04 Jeep Liberty will handle a RTT?

Why not? I would imagine the only limitation would be achieving the minimum spread as specified by the manufacturer of the tent itself. It would be a great addition and when you moved to a different rig, you could bring the tent along.

Did you get that bit out? Good luck with that!

Haven't had much time to try and get the bolt out. Trying to work as many hrs as I can. Have to come up with money for a lawyer for a divorce and going to cost 2 grand for a complete exhaust. Thinking that RTT would be my cheapest way to be able to get out. Will my side rails be strong enough?

Your roof will support 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle so it comes down to the strength of the rack system. I am not familiar with the factory rack on your Liberty but I know the factory rack on the Disco was not up to the task. It was attached to the roof in three discrete points which would have put too much weight in too small a space. If you were thinking of a Thule rack that did not use the factory rails I would think that would work fine. Unfortunately, that can get a little spendy. Maybe to save money you can run open headers instead of a new exhaust?

I would love to run open headers but my Liberty is due for its yearly inspection this month. I want to do some of the logging roads in Maine this summer.

I have a 06 Liberty and I had the same thoughts...will it hold a RTT?

Currently the tent is on the M416 trailer and does well there. I did get the trailer light kit for the Liberty but have yet to hook it up for a trial run. The trailer is on 24v system but that is not really a problem, the lights will be less bright or I can swap out for 12v bulbs. I don't think the total package will fit into the garage anyway and taking it off for around town travel is not an option.

The Liberty and trailer combo would be pretty sweet. Would it have a hard time towing it?

The Liberty should have no problems pulling the m416 trailer. I like that look as well but have no place to put a trailer.

 Thanks for the thought.

Not a Liberty in the bunch. CJ's and FJ's and some with extra supports for the tent.

The Magolina is also very spendy compared to the basic RTT. I'm going to stick with the trailer.

Looks like I can put a front runner RTT on my Liberty with no issues. The tent itself only weighs 80 lbs.
