I know this thread is becomming drawn out... but I made a budget system using:

Large PVC for the storage tube (Also stores my flyrods)

Silicone Coated Nylon

Recycled Aluminum Tent Poles

Industrial Strength Velcro

You can either stitch the velcro to the SIL-Nylon, however I used a chemical welding/adhesive. The system rolls up nicely and stores in the tube. Use stakes or guy out to trees, rocks or your wife. My system came to about 100.00 and six hours of work.
