I think I was there a few days before you were. I'd have done the trip with the group but I had my Dad coming to visit. I'd been wanting do the Fortune Creek trail for a while. My Dad (75) wanted to go camping and fishing so we went into Gallaher Head Lake, among other places, and really had a ball. We were both amazed just how beautiful a spot it was. It's an easy place to recomend to folks. I ran the whole trail into the lake in my van with a canoe on top, so it's obviously not some tiny Jeep trail. I'm going back in this weekend with some other Sportsmobilers. I'm just hoping we get the good camping spot on the south end of the lake. [EDIT] Well, I should have said it's skinny in places. Just not so skinny I couldn't fit. And I did scrape my rear bumper in a dip/washout. It's still a good trail to recomend to folk who aren't driving a boat. |
