Went overland "city style" today between the rain showers.  The Navy gray Jeep is my 1943 GPW (mfg. by Ford to keep up with wartime production) and the green one is my buddies 1947 CJ2-A civilian (farm) Jeep.  Both are all original and run the good ol' flathead 4 banger.

We wheeled from Magnolia over to Fremont around West Lake Union past the Space Needle down to the waterfront and crusied over the Duwamish River and out past the light house on Alki, then returned through Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market.

This sure did'nt make up for missin out on the Whipsaw trip but it was fun.

Man did we get a lot of thumbs ups, weird looks and everything in between.

Beautiful old rigs John.

I was born and raised in West Seattle not to far from there.

John,

One of my favorite movies was Midway. Henry Fonda drove that same Navy Jeep in the film.

Can I drive it?

I love that style of jeep.

Who needs the wipahaw trail? I've heard about some urban camping adventure in Discovery park..might have to check that out..

I used to car camp in Stanley Park in Vancouver.  There was even a wakeup service from a guy in a uniform.

Cool Jeep, BTW.
