Trip attendees:

Mark Janke and wife,

Nathan Henson and fiancee

Mica peak is just east of Spokane and a bit south.  It rests on the Washington/Idaho border and rises to roughly 5200 feet.  The main road to the peak is gated, but there are many jeep trails and 2-tracks all around the peak.  If you have access ?'s please PM me.

We got a slow start to the trip after we ate lunch.  This is apparent in the low light levels of our pictures.  The trail up starts at the end of Harvard Rd and is easily found on the local USGS topo map.  At the top of the mountain are several towers.  Some of the towers are maintained by the Air Force and various communication companies.

The trail is fairly easy, but tight, so be prepared for a few pinstripes from nature.

The sunset and scenery were beautiful.  Unfortunately, since the sun was on its way down, the pictures we took of the 3 moose, did not turn out.

Here's a couple of pics.

Great idea to drive Mica Peak.

Even better that my wife overcame some driving fears.  Awesome.

Just went up to Mica Peak today.  I had a friend up from California to visit and he wanted to get out with the Jeep.  We explored some more trails and found some great dead-ends.  Only had to back up for about 1/4 mile at one point, so overall a great trip.

Airing down today improved traction by a lot.  It is the first time I aired down on something other than sand.

Here's some pics of Mica with snow.

It is nice to see the photos of friday's trip.  Did you shoot any of Mark's rig?  Where did you go compared with our last trip up there?
