I went up with a friend this last weekend May 15-16 2009, man there is so much damage from this winter it is unbelieveable. I am sorry for no pictures but we were so busy with cutting a path through all the dead fall it gave no time to enjoy the surroundings....Talked to a couple rangers and they said the wet snow and winds devistated the entire area to include taking out a key bridge to lonesome lake. I asked if it was ok in what we were doing clearing a path and they said the Forest Dept. could use all the help they can get. With a budget cut and layoffs going on we the public if we want to use the forest land will have to basicaly fend for ourselfs this spring. Every service road in the area has had problems, from FS-70 to Naches trail to FS-74 to round top and everything in between. We are to head back up the following weekend of memorial and try to open a few paths, till then the lowland campers will have to at least double up on the camp sites or go back home.
