I have just returned from a 2800 mile trip to San Diego after attending the SWPA Treffen in Parker, AZ.  I got caught in a terrific snow storm in Grand Canyon. Really made the view change, I know this is late for your winter pictures deal but this is still a great example of how weather can change from one hour to the next.

It was the really wet sticky snow and the weight knocked one wiper off and made visibility only about 400 feet so I pulled off in the pinion pines and spent the night. Awoke to beauty all around me.

AWESOME!

More pics! More reports! I'm wanting to make the Canyonlands this summer -- if we can stand the heat....

OK Ben, Two of the canyon in early morning, just after sunrise and one of wild horses near Chaco Canyon.

Very nice view.

Traded in all my project vehicles for my 2009 Xterra, not an ounce of buyers remorse.

Very pretty. I woke up to about the same amount of snow here this morning. It was a bit of a surprise!

Some shots of Chaco Canyon as well.  Too many to put up here.

It was a great trip...I need new seats in the pinz, the stock military seats are probably relics from the Spanish inquisition.

Chaco rules- spent a lot of time in that valley in the 80's, when the road was still a red clay mess.
Cabezon is just a stunner also
That area is a really historic overland trip in many ways

 Grant,

The road is still a mess, but right now it's dust...mud later in the rainy season.

I was there in the 80's as well but then I did it in an RV. The old road (57) from the north, is now closed. There is a sign at that entrance point that says there is no longer access to Chaco.

Wow, that brings back some memories- how your sense of anticipation goes up as soon as you turn west onto that track, trying to outrun a thunderhead. This is the place of so much of my youth, and why I can't get enough of East WA
