Tom called and said let's go somewhere tonight. Hit the road after work and headed for Mt Baker. Decided to explore a side road off of FS 38, which is off of Mosquito Lake Road. Great fun. Headed up a spur off of 38 and went until the snow stopped us. Tom went further than I did since the well worn 60 series tires on my Suzuki wouldn't grip in the snow.

Brian, was that fresh snow? 38 is a nice road, I like that it gets up pretty high with some views, which you've captured nicely.
Time to get some AT's for the Zuke

Yeah, the snow was not crusty at all. I think with the cool weather the last few days it was fresh powder. The Suzuki will need tires soon but with summer coming I get a few more months out of these, especially with the few miles I put on it. Then I have to decide about tire size, and maybe the OME lift and shocks. It needs shocks for sure. As much as all that sounds fun, the budget says tires and shocks and that's it...

Here's where we got to:

We'll have to see the rest of the road, and others along FS38, this summer.
