Alert | I really like the auto-hide feature for the menus. I run Garmin software right now, and while I get a good amount of map on the screen it would be nice to have less clutter. I also like the auto load feature for the gps tracks when the card is inserted. The google earth images are cool too. Best of luck with sales. BTW what is the going rate for the current software and what is the coverage area? | | My NWOS Blog

Alert | Thanks for the kudos guys. The Software is $39.95. Most regional map packs are $39.95. US 100k map pack is $99.95. Satellite Imagery is $29.95. All products can be bought through my website or Amazon.
We have map coverage for WA, OR, CA, AZ, UT, & CO at 24k. The entire US at 100k. The entire globe at 1000k -> Global Scales. New map packs are getting added all the time. ID is next.
The satellite imagery has no relationship to Google Earth. It is false color Landsat imagery.
Complete details can be seen at http://spatialminds.com (or you can ask more questions here).

Alert | | To me, $80 for the software and a map pack is a good deal. Your software seems to be very feature rich and extremely easy to use. | | DD: 2009 Chevy HHR 1LT Toy: 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4

Alert | | Man I wish I didn't spend $160 on National Geographic Topo this Jan. I got 4 states (CA, NV, OR, WA) for that money because of their promotion but I like you interface. | | 1992 Montero overland eqpt 1997 Land Cruiser family mover (it's alive!)

Alert | Thanks Andy. Our primary focus is on creating a topographic GPS product that is feature rich but intuitive. It's nice to hear that this is important to end users like yourself.

Alert | Craig,
I'm so excited about this. I just went out and bought my new windows base computer and got it all setup. Now I just need to get the money to buy the software and build my Ram-ish mount. Haha. The new features are really legit and it's better than any other software i've been looking at so far.
Thanks for putting so much work into this. Let me know if I can help out in marketing it.

Alert | Craig...That's a really cool setup and looks easy. Question...I have the Garmin 500, can I load your gps software into it? Now assuming everything is PC related, can it work on a Mac? I'm still new to all this gps stuff and am sure have a tonload of more questions. | | Truck with pinstriping.

Alert | The software loads onto a PC running Windows XP/Vista. It doesn't load onto your GPS. The GPS is connected to the computer, but the only thing it does is to tell the PC *where* you are. The PC takes over all the functionality that you've been doing on the GPS.
Most people use a low cost USB GPS receiver to provide the lat/lon signal rather than an expensive Garmin/Magellan/Lowrance unit. It will work with any GPS that supports NMEA out (See your manual). | | My Overland Adventure Blog

Alert | | I don't think it will work on Garmin. Magellan on the other hand has windows CE underneath I believe. I know people unlocking those and using thme with OziExplorer. So it might work being Windows application. |

Alert | Unfortunately, Windows software doesn't run under Windows CE. The software will only run on Windows XP and Windows Vista based computers (possibly older versions of Windows as well, but they are untested/unsupported).

Which most of Garmin Navigators don't do. Only some of handhelds output NMEA as I found out. Guess you can try to persuade it to work vi gspGate I'm not sure. I got myself Globalsat BU-353 for that purpose. Works very well with NGTopo | | 1992 Montero overland eqpt 1997 Land Cruiser family mover (it's alive!)

Alert | Alex I have the very same GPS receiver via USB. Really nice unit. I also just bought a Acer Aspire one Netbook. It's perfect size for what I need.

Alert | The goal of this version is to replicate existing GPS functionality which doesn't usually include creating tracks. Since it runs on a PC, you can create tracks with any program you want, save them to disk, and Overland Navigator will automatically detect that they are there and display them. We'll be adding track editing in future versions.
