Yep.  If you know how to save a Google Map as a GPX then Overland Navigator supports the rest.  I do this regularly with Google Earth when scouting for trips.

In the "Settings Program" there is Track Directory setting. Just save the GPX track there and it will show up automatically. To hide it, you can just move it into a subdirectory of the Track Directory. The Track Directory is also where your daily .gpx files will be stored. If you are on a multi-day trip, prior days will show up automatically in blue (so you know how to get home if you want to backtrack). Have you seen the YouTube video?

A second option is to save the GPX track to an SD card, USB thumb drive, or CD/DVD. Start Overland Navigator, insert the removable media. Overland Navigator will automatically detect the media insertion and display the tracks. If you eject it, they will dissapear.

If you have any other questions, feel free to send an email to support@spatialminds.com.  There is an updated manual in the support section of the website too.

I don't think you can save Google maps. You can create markup in Google Earth and save it as a KML file. I use GPS Babel (free) to translate from KML to GPX. Sounds complicated, but once you've done it once it's easy. For driving directions to the trailhead, I use a separate street maps program.

I'll take a look at Google Maps and see if there is a way, but I don't think so.

A google search on "Google Maps to GPX" turned up a few hits. This one looks promising... results are about 1/2 way down the page.

Don't save it as a text file. Save it, or rename it with a .gpx extension. Overland Navigator will only show *.gpx files.

You can save them to the folder while Overland Navigator is running and it will show them (if they are inside the current map viewport).

Yes. If not, save it as file.txt and rename it file.gpx. I've never used that plugin thing.
