Why am I so excited?  Because in the past, you were limited to the GPS' internal memory for track logs, which really sucked on long, long rips (my wife's 3 week trek in Nepal, for instance).  It made you compromise and maybe space out the log points further.  And you could only save 20 track logs on the unit.
Now, with recent updates available at least for my unit, you can have it ALSO dump to the data card.  I dumped a full day, 12 hours, of data and it created a 2MB file.  This was 17,526 data points.
I also confirmed that when the internal memory was full and no longer logging (turned off wrap tool) I could leave the unit on and still dump new data to the card.

It makes simple gpx files, one for each day and then individual segments are under those (for each time you start and stop the unit).

I'm happy.

Peter,

What does the directory/file structure of the card look like? Flat, with one file per day or are there sub-directories for maps, tracks, csv files, etc? How exactly are the files named? I'm asking, because I can mirror this structure with my software making it possible to move memory cards between a handheld and in-vehicle GPS system.

Thanks!
Craig

It's really flat.  See picture below.  That other folder is just my maps I've loaded on there.
Otherwise, WYSIWYG
I emailed you the biggest gpx file cus I know you'll have other questions.
Being able to just pull your micro-SD card and put it in a laptop to plot would be dope.

Excellent! That is identical to the naming convention I was going to use. Thanks for sending me the other file too.
