Here are some pics of my floorpan replacement project.  These first ones are the rusted- floorpan.

Here is after I spent some time cutting patch panels and burning them in.

Every time I see this stuff I realize how good my trucks have held up against rust...

And I think I need to get a welder... just for fun.

I didn't get so lucky with the rust, but I picked this truck up for $700 so I had low expectations.

Nice work! I had to make a couple small patches in the front footwells. The bloody mud flap mounts make a nice shelf for dirt to build up on and hold moisture against the floor pans. Clearly Rover doesn't understand the general level of apathy present in the average luxury vehicle owner, at least in the US. I'm sure in Jolly Old, the proper Rover enthusiast cleans the underside of the vehicle each fortnight or thereabouts, including renewing the WaxOil. Here in Amurrricuh, it's a quick run through the car wash once a week, in between Starbucks and the gym.

Nice work.

Ben - I need to learn how to weld too. I'm just waiting for someone to do a tech session on it where I can give it a try.

Tony - You go through a car wash once a week? Dang... I feel dirty now.

No car wash for me. No Starbucks or gym, either! ;-) I was thinking more of the previous owner of my RRC, who upgraded to a Porsche Cayenne...

Tony and Craig,

Welding is not too difficult.  I have no idea what I am doing, but it seems to be pretty strong.  I am really improving at running my beads too.  Yeah, those cursed mud flaps mounts did in my floorpans.  I have a few more pictures to post.  I finally got a picture of the completed floor to submit.

I'll have pictures with the new suspension seat mounts and seats coming soon, as well as some floor bracing, which, as it turns out, is very necessary :)
