I do alot of camping and with that comes the cooking aspect....I have gas stove, skillet, and single burner and use the fire for cooking and heating....But sometimes I would like to BBQ .

So I have been looking for a good quality (very important) BBQ that it easily transportable, compact and can cook for 4 all at once.(not much room left)

So I thought I would ask the experts here who have been doing this for years, so I need some Ideas and who/what to stay away from.

Thanks, Steve

BBQ means different things to different people. To me, BBQ is slowly cooking meat with indirect heat along with smoke, e.g. pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket. To some people, BBQ is simply grilling burgers or steaks over direct heat. If you give a little more input, it might help.

Steven, I use the Snow Peak IGT BBQ Box.  It is very small with no wasted space for packing in another box like a Weber Smokey Joe Kettle.  It is as high quality as I've ever seen in a portable grill.  In terms of the size; it should be able to cook enough for 4 people at one time.  It just depends on what you are grilling.  4 porterhouse steaks might be a little big to fit, but 4 burgers would be no problem.  I was able to cook pork tenderloin for 45 people a few years ago in 2 batches.

It is a very versatile grill since the charcoal tray can be lowered.  You can roast meats at a somewhat low temp or full on sear meat at high temps.  The only thing that is a downside is the cost: $180.  IMHO, it is worth every penny.
